Durant would prove to be one of the only bright spots on a struggling SuperSonics team, earning Rookie of the Month honors every month of the season exceptFebruary. Even though the Sonics finished with only twenty wins on the season, Durant established himself as one of the best young players in the league by earning the title of NBA Rookie of the Year and averaging just over twenty points per game.
